Is Facebook overvalued? Naah, I don’t know anymore…

facebooksocial mediaI used to say that Facebook is overvalued. I’m not so sure anymore – Facebook is now the de-facto platform for the social layer on the web, just as Google is the de-facto platform for indexed search. Watch this video and try to grasp the figures.  0

How location based computing will change your everyday life

GeolocationThe possibilities with location based computing, or geolocation, is just mind-boggling. If you think that it is equivalent to Foursquare or Facebook Places (or if you just thought “What the heck is Foursquare”), then check out the capabilities of ToothTag, an ingenious app that uses BlueTooth, Wifi and NFC technologies to allow the user to trigger an alert, drop a pin on a virtual map, or check-in on social sites when a tagged object moves closer or further away. These are just a few examples of what is possible.  Comments Off

How Citerus is gamifying its recrutiment

citerusgame theoryAt Citerus, we decided to organize a programming competition – The Hackers’ Night Crazy Snake edition – as a complement to our normal marketing and recruitment activities. The invitation went out by RSS, on our mailing lists (sign up here) and via Citerus’ Twitter account. We were pleasantly surprised of the kind reception it got in the Swedish programming community; in a matter of hours we had literally hundreds of curious visitors on citerus.se. In the end, we had a lot of fun and spent a lot less money than we would have needed to spend through traditional channels to get the same reach. More important, we hopefully gained some karma in the Swedish programming community which will support our recruitment.  Comments Off
